Get To Know More About Me ...

Welcome to On Your Way to Shine!

It's important to share a bit about me, Deborah, and what drives my passion for this work. I was born in Paris to a French mother and a Vietnamese/Indian father. From a young age, I’ve always had a deep passion for travel and exploring new cultures. I've lived in Italy, hitchhiked across Europe, backpacked solo in Southeast Asia, and even climbed se veral mountain peaks despite having minimal physical conditioning at the time. One of my most recent and greatest adventures was arriving in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa in 2019. Though I’m not yet an Australian resident, I’m hopeful to become one someday, alongside my Belgian husband.

The travels, challenges, discomforts, and the people I met along the way have not only opened my mind but also my heart. My heart is filled with unconditional love and respect for the life I lead, the experiences I encounter, the landscapes I admire, and, most importantly, for the people I meet. Above all, my heart is filled with love and tolerance for myself.

I believe that life is a great school, offering us all the tools to shine from within. However, we must learn how to use them. Once you understand these tools, it’s hard to let go of them – and that’s when you begin your journey to shine.

If you’re familiar with the DISC personality model, you might find it interesting that I align with the "Steadiness" personality type. This means I am naturally patient, calm, and cooperative. I prioritize stability, harmony, and supporting others, while also seeking peaceful and balanced environments. It’s no surprise, then, that I was drawn to the well-being industry!

My life mission (Dharma) became clear to me during a retreat in Bali. I fell in love with the kindness of the Balinese people and their simple belief that when you do good, good will come back to you. We often find our life’s purpose by serving our own needs and realizing that others have the same needs. It became clear to me that my calling was to help others find inner well-being through the tools of life. And it was through massage – the power of touch – that I chose to honor this call.

I approach every session with calmness, working to ease your stress and relieve your body aches. My aim is to keep your body and mind grounded, ensuring you feel heard and understood. I believe in fostering trust and security in both personal and professional relationships, which allows me to explore the world while knowing I can give and receive support when needed. After each session, I want you to feel lighter, both in body and spirit.

I trained professionally in Balinese massage in Canggu, Bali, and it’s thanks to that training that I am now able to work as a certified massage therapist. But I believe that formal studies and certifications alone don't make a great therapist. What matters most is genuine attention and care. When the heart is involved, much of the work is already done.

I created On Your Way to Shine so that each person feels worthy of mental and physical happiness through wellness massage. While I am deeply committed to serving others, I also practice this work as a way to fulfill my own need for personal recognition – because there is nothing more rewarding than a sincere thank-you from someone who feels truly cared for.

As for my work schedule, I am available at Evoxia Physio on Saturdays and Sundays, but I also work as a contractor with other teams, as I believe massage therapy can sometimes be a solitary profession. I enjoy exchanging ideas and socializing with others to keep my energy high.

You can also find me at Soak Bathhouse West End on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and at City Cave Wynnum on Tuesdays and Fridays. I offer both relaxation and deep tissue massage, with session lengths ranging from 45 to 90 minutes. For pricing and to book, please visit their respective websites.

I look forward to helping you find your way to shine!

Thank you

Deb
